We started this blog page with the intention of posting every month or so just to share with you various developments in our quest to design and produce a quality collection in as a sustainable way as possible. So we apologize for the large gap since our last post. We would like to blame at least part of that delay on our recent adoption of a particular small creature - a puppy we named Stella.

Stella‘s parents are an Australian Shepherd and a Poodle, so she is known as an Aussiedoodle. Our last seven dogs have all been rescue dogs, some of them from the streets of LA, others from the pound and one from a traveling deadhead. But now that only one of the 7 is still standing, for some crazy reason we thought it might be a good idea to get a puppy.

A friend of ours from Mendocino had a beautiful dog they got from a local very small scale breeder called Amazing Aussiedoodles. We loved their dog so much that we got on her waiting list and sure enough, eight months later we brought home Stella.

Stella is wonderful – smart, small, super soft (just like our clothing) but very energetic as well. Even though we have had many dogs, it has been quite a while since we had a puppy - and to our surprise she can be quite demanding! So for the past couple months in addition to our busy work schedule we find ourselves arranging puppy play dates and taking long walks a couple times a day. She loves to play so much and is amazingly fast and agile. She likes to zoom around the park trying to get other dogs to chase her and she loves, loves, loves the beach. Her first ocean beach experience we took her to the town of Carmel CA and stayed at Doris Day’s famous Dog friendly Hotel, the Cypress Inn.

Stella seems to want to be with us everywhere we go and she has brought us much joy in the short time she has been with us. We hope to share some of our adventures together with you as she grows.
